In common with the majority of schools, King’s College does not normally allow visitors to bring their dogs onto the site, and this includes the playing fields.
The King's College Taunton Cricket Festival takes the safety and comfort of all attendees seriously. In line with this commitment, we maintain a strict no-dogs policy on the festival grounds. While we understand that many of our visitors are dog lovers, this policy is in place for several important reasons, which are common to most schools and school events.
Firstly, the presence of dogs can pose health and safety risks. As many schools and events cater to children, it is essential to reduce the risk of dog-related injuries or incidents. Even well-behaved dogs may become overwhelmed in a busy and noisy environment, leading to unpredictable behaviour.
Secondly, allergies are a significant concern. Children and adults alike can suffer from dog allergies, which can range from mild to severe. By not allowing dogs on the premises, we help to create a more comfortable and inclusive environment for all visitors.
Lastly, maintaining cleanliness is a priority. The presence of dogs may result in additional waste and mess on the grounds, which can pose both hygiene and safety issues.
Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you have a specific request or a legitimate reason for needing to bring a dog to the festival, please register your dog using the form link above. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at the King's College Taunton Cricket Festival.
